From an elevated lookout point, the view stretches beyond Olifantsbos Cottage towards a broad sweep of coastline and open sea. Joanna Lee Miller places the modest structure low in the composition, partially enclosed by dark, wind-shaped vegetation, while pale rocks and turquoise water lead the eye towards the horizon.
Touches of coral, ochre, olive green and blue give the scene a sunlit freshness, balanced by the deeper tones of the foreground fynbos.
