We’re here to help you collect art with confidence. We appreciate that buying art online can be daunting which is why we offer a (7) Seven-Day Money Back Guarantee on works purchased sight-unseen.

Buy from our online art gallery, live with your chosen artwork for one week, and if you are not entirely happy - return it to us in the same condition it arrived and you will be fully refunded for the artwork *(this is not applicable for commissioned artworks or photographic works).

We take the greatest care when selecting contemporary art for you. All artists and artwork showcased by StateoftheART are rigorously selected by our Curatorial Panel. We will only exhibit work of the highest quality and endeavour to ensure that the price reflects the value of the artwork. StateoftheART offers a seven-day no quibble money back guarantee on artwork that has been purchased without prior viewing ( *excluding commissioned artwork and photographic editions). Should your online purchase not meet your expectations, you may return it within seven days of receiving the order. We will issue you a full refund or credit on the price of the art and pay for the return shipping of artworks within South Africa.

You must ensure that the artwork is securely packaged for return shipping. **At this time, there are no returns on special orders or orders shipped outside of the South Africa.  We will not accept returned items from customers that have been damaged in transit to the gallery due to insufficient packaging.  If this is the case, the item will be returned to the customer at the customer’s expense. Acceptance of returns outside of the 7 days time frame will be at the discretion of StateoftheART.

*Client is liable for the cost of the initial shipping but we will cover the cost of the return within South Africa
** Client is liable for the cost of the return on artworks shipped outside of South Africa.

Returns Process
If you would like to return an item, please email us at within 7 days of receiving your artwork, stating your reason for wishing to return the item as well as the collection date and address.  We will schedule a courier to collect the artwork and send you a confirmation email. Please print out this email and include it with the artwork being returned.  We will refund your purchase after the artist has received and checked the item. We will do everything we can to process refunds quickly, but please allow up to 10 working days.
