Collectors Resale

StateoftheART  offers clients a 'resale' listings service to meet the needs of collectors  who have previously acquired work by an artist represented by our gallery, and who now wish to divest the artwork from their personal collection.

How does StateoftheART select its resale inventory?

StateoftheART works with a curatorial panel to review resale submissions and selects only those contemporary artworks that complement our gallery's primary market inventory. To be accepted for listing, artworks must be by one of our current roster of artists.

What is StateoftheART's commission structure?
The commission structure at StateoftheART is straightforward, fair and no-nonsense. It’s simple: consignors will pay a commission of 20% on sale amounts below R20,000 and 15% of the amount above R20,000

If you are interested in consigning an artwork, please contact the gallery with the following information:

- name of the artist

- title of the artwork
- dimensions of the artwork

- purchase price of the artwork (if you have it)
- the amount you wish to sell the artwork for
- high res images of the artwork

*Please note that we do not provide a valuations or appraisal service.
**Only contemporary artworks by our current roster of artists and which complement our primary market portfolio will be selected for resale. Commercial works will not be accepted.
