Digital art begins with the same essential ingredients as any original artwork: an idea, an artist’s eye and a deeply personal way of seeing the world.
Janet Botes and Balekane Legoabe create their digital collages from their own photographs, drawings and handmade marks. These elements are carefully layered, altered and brought together digitally to form an original composition. The computer is part of the process, but the source material and every creative decision belong to the artist.
Janet Botes creates expansive South African landscapes shaped by memory, place and our relationship with the natural world. Her panoramic works bring together familiar terrain and imagined spaces, creating landscapes that feel both recognisable and dreamlike.
Balekane Legoabe combines photography, drawing and mark-making to explore African symbolism, mythology and the relationship between people, animals and the land. Her layered compositions have a quiet visual intensity and a distinctive contemporary voice.
Each artwork is professionally printed and released in a very small edition of only three or five. Once an edition has sold out, no further works will be produced in that edition. Every print is sold as a physical artwork with a signed certificate of authenticity.
