Artist Description

Artist Notes:

The reason I use a female to personify the world, it is solely because of the attributes earth has, it give protects and nurtures like a mother should, but then again earth is personified as a human and this allows people to see the earth as something they can relate to.

Air pollution is one of the major causes of climate change, it is the reason for the overheating of the atmosphere, the overheating and melting of ice glaciers, and the reason for poor health. The piece visits the some of the reasons for out climate crises, in this intricately planned piece. The figure represents the earth as well as the average human.

The stemless leaves represent unclean air as plants with not stems do not breathe or purify the air.
The colour purple I represents spirituality as I try like the atmospheric morphing with spiritual activity.
Since they both have the same characteristics , adding a spiritual experience makes the work more human as much as the piece is of earth. It is then an African experience.
