Artwork Description
Four figures move purposefully across a web of weather symbols, pressure lines and handwritten forecasts. Seen from behind, an adult carries one child while guiding two others forward, their white clothing picked out with fluid marks of grey, black and soft blue. The figures create a strong rhythm of movement against the precise red grid of the chart.
Lisette Forsyth has painted Strong Push in acrylic and ink directly onto an original vintage synoptic weather chart. The chart’s printed data, notations and aged paper surface remain visible throughout, becoming an active part of the composition rather than a conventional background. The title echoes wording printed within the forecast, linking the figures’ forward momentum to the changing weather patterns beneath them.
Measuring 37 x 26 cm framed, this intimate original artwork is presented in a warm wooden frame. Its layered details make it especially rewarding to view at close range.
