Artist Notes: artwork sold unframed
In the works Lost in Dreams of Past & Future I and II I explore the ways in which artists feel most connected during the Covid pandemic: be it with the aid of technology, or moving closer to nature.
I personally believe that time is a continuous strand connecting moments and this was my point of departure. There is also something about memory: I read once that when one recalls a memory, one actually remembers the previous thought of that memory. In a sense it becomes a memory of a memory and so changes over time: It colours and informs our perception of the present.
I have used images of hands by Agnolo Bronzino - one of my favourite Renaissance painters. The presence of these hands in the works speak of time, memory, history and how it connects to the present.
