Artwork Description
A small group of trees, their branches leaning towards one another and their canopies almost touching, forms the subject of Sentient XII by South African artist Laurel Holmes. The fine black lines of the etching capture the character of each tree, from its twisted trunk to the intricate detail of its foliage.
Printed on textured cotton rag paper with a generous margin of white space, this understated work has a lovely sense of balance. Its modest size makes it particularly appealing for an intimate space or as part of a thoughtfully arranged collection of original prints.
