Artist Notes:
Life is full of things that don’t really cost us anything but form an important part of our visual and emotional selves. Simple origami creations have made their way into so many cultures by the pure inventiveness of humanity. They are undervalued yet have the ability to transport the viewer or creator to a place of emotional delicacy.
Translating them into a solid material is a way of materialising and physiologically adding to their value. It is also a play on their function, they can no longer float freely on the surface but rather hold the idea of weightlessness.
