The Second GIPCA Live Art Festival in Cape Town

The Live Art Festival brings together a range of artists from the fields of visual arts, dance, theatre, music, architecture and literature. Most works are collaborative and interdisciplinary, with artists from across South Africa as well as Switzerland, the United Kingdom, United States, Cameroon, Nigeria, Netherlands and Ghana.

The festival includes work by the inaugural winner of the Standard Bank Young Artist Award for Performance Art, Anthea Moys, who will present a world premiere of The Impossible Auction at the City Hall. Also on the programme is work by  John Nankin from the Glass Theatre, Nicole Seiler from Switzerland, and Rosa Postlethwaite from the United Kingdom. Mohau Modisakeng creates a new work Ukukhumula (“unclothing”) as part of a series of works about the Body and Mortality.

The programme is jam-packed with many more enticing and awe-inspiring performances, happenings and mixed media works, read more on GIPCA's website: gipca.uct.ac.za/project/2nd-live-art-festival, and view updates on their Facebook page.
