Artist Description
Full title: Company Gardens with Table Mountain
"I have a regular Wednesday afternoon painting date with two of my closest painting friends. This day we went to the Company Gardens - a historically significant landmark for the Cape, where fruit and vegetables were grown from the mid-1600s to supply passing ships on their way to and from the Far East as part of the Spice Trade. We have some beautiful buildings that now fill the gardens, including The Centre for the Book (the rounded roof) and this cathedral. Not much can convince me it's more beautiful than a mountain, but these buildings added to the majesty of our Table Mountain."
