Artist Description
Sometimes when I paint a view, I almost can't believe it's real... This day, at Fisherman's Beach, the beauty was surreal... The colours in the water, the stillness of the sea, the glistening light from the sun, the solidity of the rocks... I shared with my boyfriend some time ago how much I enjoy the juxtaposition of the fluid, ever changing movement of the water against the solid, unmoving rocks along the shore. Perhaps it is this stark contrast that appeals to me so much. But even though they seem to be opposites, they are deeply connected to each other, in a dance, constantly in touch with one another, affecting and influencing each other. The water moulding around and enveloping the rocks, and simultaneously steadily, slowly, breaking down the solid form wave after wave.
