Artist Description
This artwork featured on the cover of 'Pomp' magazine.
The title of this painting is derived from an Afrikaans folk song. A lonely gum tree, a windmill an cement dam in the "Sekretaarspan" area were the inspiration for my painting. An attractive young girl walks to the dam with a bucket in her hand. The fact that she only wears a Voortrekker bonnet portrays a young girl’s free spirit.
