Artwork Description

Bucks appear to rise and descend through the tall, narrow composition of Kite. Some are rendered as solid black silhouettes, while others emerge through transparent layers of fine lines and repeated marks. Their overlapping bodies create a shifting vertical rhythm, punctuated by two dark circular forms.

Balekane Legoabe digitally combines drawing, animal imagery, textured surfaces and a faint landscape fragment. The restricted black-and-grey palette allows changes in opacity to shape the work: certain animals come sharply forward while others seem to recede or pass through one another. The generous vertical format strengthens the feeling of upward and downward movement.

Kite is a digital collage printed on 200gsm True Fibre Matt paper. Numbered 3 from an edition of 5, it measures 20 x 42 cm unframed.
