Artwork Description
A pale, buck-inspired form emerges from a charcoal-grey ground, built from repeated translucent lines that create a flickering, shifting form. Two elongated hands extend across the animal from either side, their simple white outlines contrasting with the dense, scratched texture of its body.
Balekane Legoabe’s digital collage combines drawing, layering and repetition to create an image that feels both familiar and strange. The overlapping marks suggest movement, while the restricted monochrome palette gives the work a dreamlike atmosphere. The relationship between the buck and the reaching hands remains deliberately open, allowing the viewer to form a personal reading of Two.
This limited-edition digital artwork is produced as an archival pigment print on 200gsm True Fibre Matt paper. Numbered 2 from an edition of 5, it measures 30 x 21 cm unframed and is available for R2,850.
