First Light Kommetjie, Looking Towards Hout Bay
"I met my friend Beth Lowe not long after sunrise near the main Kommetjie beach. No one I know has the crazy passion for Plein Air painting as much as I do, other than Beth. We both painted furiously to capture the light effect before it changed too much. We both lamented the rising sun, as the light on the water changed completely and the magic of the rebellious sun breaking through the clouds gave way to a more established mid morning light. That said, we both managed to grab that effect in time, and were both left feeling excited, satisfied, and yet always ready for more as we found our way to the next spot for the day."
